SLAVERY TO ALLAH

SLAVERY TO ALLAH

All mankind and all creation are slaves to Allah the Highest, weather they will or not and weather they believe or not.  This slavery is compulsory, we have no hand in, because Allah the Highest created us and He does what He wills with us, concerning our life, health, provision, death and every thing else.  Man can not accept or refuse this, for Allah the Highest does not give us choice in these matters, and this apply to the whole universe and every thing in it.

There is another kind of slavery which is by choice and which Allah’s good slaves choose.  For this state of slavery to Allah the Highest to take place one should fulfil the following:

-         The sincere and true believe in Allah the Highest.

-         Obeying Allah’s commands and abstaining from His prohibitions.

-         To be sincere in Allah’s worship.

-         To prefer the obedience of Allah the Highest to the obedience of others.

-         To always look at what he is about to do; does it if it involves the pleasure of Allah the Highest and not to do it if it does not.

-         To always have comfort and contentment in his relationship with all and to depend on Him always.

The complete slavery to Allah the Highest give us the complete freedom from slavery to others regardless of who he might be.

He, whose whole matter and fear is from Allah the Highest, will not fear others.  He whose slavery is to Allah the Highest Allah will protect him, and who relies on His Lord, shall not need others, for Allah the Highest said: “IS ALLAH NOT SUFFICIENT FOR HIS SLAVE, AND THEY FRIGHTEN YOU WITH THOSE BENEATH HIM”.  (S: 39 A: 36)

“HE WHO RELIES ON ALLAH, HE WILL BE SUFFICIENT FOR HIM”.  (S: 63 A: 3)

The slavery to Allah the Highest will protect the person from the fear of others, depending on others and from deciding the right thing to do.  Allah the Highest is the one who gives people exaltation or humiliation.  He who’s exaltation and honour is with people and through people, he will never have true exaltation and honour, and it will never last, for Allah the Highest said: “HE WHO DESIRED HONOUR AND EXALTATION, TO ALLAH BELONGS ALL EXALTATION AND HONOUR”. (S: 35 A: 10)

This is the true honour and exaltation, not the honour and exaltation of the kings and presidents for this comes through their authority overpowering people.  The true exaltation and honour comes from Allah the Highest, it will be in the hearts of the righteous of Allah’s slaves.

It is hard for a person to live in fear of the injustice of the unjust, fearing if someone will hurt him or be angry with him and what this might lead to.  What gives person contentment and comfort in his heart is to fear only the One and Only, who is never unjust and overpowering over all.  Allah the Highest said: “DO NOT FEAR THEM AND FEAR ME” (S: 5 A: 3)

And He said also “ALLAH WILL SUPPORT THOSE WHO SUPPORT HIM FOR ALLAH IS ALL POWERFUL AND ALL MOST EXALTED”.   (S: 22 A: 40)

Allah the Highest does not need our help and support, so how do we support Allah?  We support and defend Allah’s word and Faith.  This is supporting ourselves, for Allah the Highest does not need our support.  Even the Jihad in the cause of Allah is not for Him but for us, as Allah the Highest said: “HE WHO DOES JEHAD, HE IS DOING JEHAD FOR HIMSELF, FOR ALLAH DOES NOT NEED ANY OF HIS CREATION”   (S:29  A:6)

Allah’s support of His slaves who are sincere in slavery and worship of him is not in this life only but in the hereafter as well.  Allah the Highest will be their supporter and only He will be able to administer justice and give.  Allah Highest said: “WE WILL SUPPORT THOSE WHO BELIEVE IN THE LOWER LIFE AND ON THE DAY WHEN THE WITNESS WILL RISE (TO GIVE TESTIMONY) (S: 40 A: 51)

Also said: “IT IS AN OBLIGATION UPON US TO SUPPORT THE BELIEVERS”   (S: 30 A: 47)

So whoever are a true slave of Allah and a true believer, it is an obligation Allah the Highest made on Himself to support him even if after a while.  Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him said:  “Three people their dawaa will never be rejected; a just ruler, and the fasting when he breaks his fasting, and he who suffered injustice, it will be raised above the clouds, and The Lord most Exalted and most Majestic says: by my Exaltation and Majesty, I will support you, even if after a while”.  (Tormozy: Janah, 3 & Magah: Sayam; 48 & Ahmed: 2:305, 445)

Allah the Highest promised His slaves to provide for them, when He said: “AND IN THE HEAVENS IS YOUR PROVISIONS AND WHAT YOU HAVE BEEN PROMISED”.   (S: 51 A: 22)

Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him said: “If you rely on Allah as you ought to, he will provide for you as He provides the birds, they go empty, and return full”.  (Tormozy: Zohd, 33 & Magah: Zohd, 14 & a: 1; 30, 53)

Allah the Highest made providing for His slaves one of His duties.  Whether they believe or not, or obedient or not.  The duties of the slaves to their Lord are necessary to fulfil to qualify for the complete provisions from their Lord.  And of the duties of the slaves to their lord:

-         Complete and sincere believe in Allah, believe without any doubt.  This is the believe in Allah and His books, messengers and angels and the day of resurrection and the hereafter, and fate.  The believe in Allah the Highest as if we see Him.  The believe in Allah in all his names which describe Him.

To believe in Allah the Highest as a Creator of the Heavens and Earth, the First without a beginning and the Last without an end.  The one who looks after the heavens and earth, who started the creation and may restart it.  To believe in Allah’s superior vision and Wisdom, which we can not understand often.  Believing in Allah the Highest as the one God with no partners, even showing off which is the minor Sherk.  Not to take other gods is to make Allah the His faith, commands and prohibitions first and superior to all others.  Faith is the foremost, for every thing else depends on our faith.  If our faith is complete and strong so will other aspects of our relations with Allah the Highest and if not it will not.

-         Obeying Allah’s commands and prohibitions.

-         Making the observance of obeying Allah the Highest before obeying others.

A slave obeys his master and strives for his pleasure.  The way to that is through Obedience of Allah.  There are those who obey Allah the Highest fearing His Anger and striving for His Reward.  This is good as Allah the Highest described the believers to ask Him in fear and hope.

There are those who like to treat Allah the Highest as He should be treated by his slaves.  When a slave knows His creator and his obligations towards him, and the His creator will never let him down, will then fear no one, or obey anyone other than his creator.  “IS ALLAH NOT SUFFICIENT FOR HIS SLAVE AND THEY THREATEN YOU WITH THOSE BENEATH HIM”

The more this belief becomes certain in the believer’s heart, the more he will find the choice between obeying Allah and the others easier.

Sincerity in worship:

All kind of worship should be for the sake and directed towards Allah the Highest.  Worship is in itself obedience to Allah the Highest, this obedience should not include any element of showing off, i.e. wanting to be seen.  Therefore one should not try to show his acts of worship and obedience of Allah the Highest, not should a person feel an admiration of himself and what he does.  The main thing is to be accepted by Allah.  Allah the Highest does not accept any act done for his sake if it is meant also partially for others.  Allah the Highest said in the Hadith Qudsy:  “I am the one who does not need partners, he who does a deed in which he has given me partners; I will leave it to the partner”.   (Ahmed & Termezi & Ibn Maga)

The most important thing is a deed is to be accepted by Allah the Highest and for this it has to be sincere to start with.  Look at Allah’s messengers Ibrahim and his son Ismael, they build the Kabba according to Allah’s commands and asking Him to accept  “AND AS IBRAHIM RAISES THE FOUNDATIONS OF THE HOUSE WITH ISMAEL (SAYING): OUR LORD ACCEPT FROM US, YOU HEAR ALL AND SEE ALL”.  (S: 2 A: 127)

Indeed the showing off in worship causes Allah’s anger, and let us read “SO WOO TO THOSE WHO PRAY THE SALAH, THOSE WHO SHOW TO OTHERS AND STOP HELP REACHING OTHERS”  (S:107  A:4-7)

So sincerity of worship is the most important aspect of worship.  When a believer fulfils his obligations in obeying Allah, Allah the Highest will fulfil his obligations as Lord to him.  Those are those about whom Allah the Highest said : ”ALLAH IS PLEASED WITH THEM AND THEYARE PLEASED WITH HIM”  (S:5  A:119) (S:10 A:7) (S:98 A:8)

These believers are pleased and contented with their Lord; therefore Allah the Highest is pleased with them and gives them contentment.

Their next step is to be of the foremost in their relationship with Allah the Highest and for those Allah the Highest promised them that they will be brought close to him  “AND THE FOREMOST THE FOREMOST, THEY ARE THOSE BROUGHT CLOSE, IN THE GARDENS OF DELIGHTS, FEW OF THE EARLY ONES AND A GROUP OF THE LATER ONES”.   (S: 56 A: 10-14)

And Allah the Highest will love them and those in the Heavens with love them and those on earth will be always accepting him.  Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him said that Allah the Highest said:  “Whenever Allah loves a slave of him he calls Gebriel and tells him: I love so and so, love him.  Then Gebriel loves him and he calls in the heavens:  Allah loves so and so, love him.  Then those in the Heavens will love him and acceptance will be his on Earth”.  (Muslim and Termezi)
